How to use airplay on iphone 5

THE RETINA DISPLAY OF THE IPHONE manages to make what’s on screen really stand out by comparison to other phones that are available. The sharp detail and fantastic brightness levels make it one of the best screens on any mobile device.

However, there are some occasions when only a big screen will do. Thanks to the AirPlay technology that’s built into iOS you can show off whatever’s on your iPhone screen by mirroring it onto your TV screen. You’ll need an Apple TV to connect the two, but once you’ve hooked it up, screen-sharing is easy.

You can display both video and photos on the big screen. Lots of the TV and video apps found in the App Store support AirPlay, too, allowing you to have the television signal sent from your iPhone to your TV.

In addition, you can send the audio from the music app over to AirPlayenabled devices. Lots of the new iPod and iPhone hi-fi docks are now AirPlay-enabled so you can wirelessly stream music to them.

AirPlay mirroring also means that even if an app doesn’t have a designated AirPlay capability you can still show it off on the big screen. Should you rotate the screen, the matching image on your TV will also rotate.

You can even pinch-to-zoom in and out. As well as photo slideshows, music, video and games, you can use  AirPlay with your web browser to give yourself a front-room browsing experience that’s easy to use.

We’ll look at how to get the most from AirPlay mirroring on the iPhone 5 in this short walkthrough.
