| Musical movement logitech’s boombox is light and sturdy enough for outdoor use |
It’s well built too, with a metal grille covering the speaker drivers and a rubber coating on the base of the unit to protect it from bumps and bruises. there’s a mains adaptor included with the boombox, but it also has a rechargeable battery that lasts for about six hours between charges.
There’s no dock for ios devices – and no airplay either – as logitech has opted for bluetooth wireless this time around, along with a standard line-in socket for wired connections. the boombox can pair with three bluetooth devices at once, so you and your friends can all use it together, switching from device to device whenever you want.
Sound quality is good: nice and detailed, and with surprisingly firm bass for a compact unit. High frequencies can sound a little harsh at full volume – which we’d estimate at around 40w – but even if you turn it down a little the boombox is strong enough to get things going at a barbecue or on the beach.
It is a little pricey, though. If you buy it direct from its website, which seems a little steep. look around online to see if you can get it for a bit less.
